Japanese 'smart clothing' uses nanofibers to monitor your heart-rate

Japanese mobile carrier NTT Docomo and materials developer Toray have been working on joint projects and have now announced one called Hitoe, which means ‘one layer’ in Japanese.
It is a cloth that contains Toray's nanofibres that are coated in a transmittable layer. It is a nicotine-patch sized square you attach to it that does the sensing.

A New company Named Electroloom is going to enter the garment market with its new innovative 3-D printing technology.

As by the Facebook page of Electroloom it is said that the 3-D printing is going to be launched by the Year’s End.

The Electroloom prototype, designed by Aaron Rowley and his team, is so far capable of printing polymer fabric as sheets and tubes.

Thanks to Materials scientists at both Harvard University as well as the University of Exeter in the UK, a new fabric is being added to the family of textiles.Inspired by nature, the researchers identified and replicated the unique structural element that create the bright Iridescent Blue color of a typical plant's fruit.

What is Defect?

Defect is the thing occurs in the fabric which makes the fabric or the finished product unacceptable to the desired quality level. If we categorized the defect than there will be two categories. One is major defect and another one is minor defect.                                              

Know about Major and Minor Defects

The following definitions are central to fabric inspection:

Major Defect - A defect that, if conspicuous on the finished product, would cause the item to be a second. (A "second" is a garment with a conspicuous defect that affects the salability or service ability of the item.

Minor Defects - A defect that would not cause the product to be termed a second either because of severity or location. When inspecting piece goods prior to cutting, it is necessary to rate questionable defects as major, since the inspector will not know where the defect may occur on the item.
